Breaking boundaries your branches stretch up high,
You learn the rules of the day and the secrets of the night
And grow up to know what you were taught is not right...

The mighty oak grows, believing still in the early lessons
Seasons turn and the winds howl demanding reasons,
The sun goes round, and you hold on and hold strong
Alone you stand, no one to share all that you faced wrong...
But the deep buried roots don't doubt its own soil

Dried leaves drift below, covering your own shadow
and before the last clinging one wither's away
Your not going to fade, without having your say.
